Dear Bret,

Thank you and Kristi so much for a great experience at the District 5400 Conference.  Pat and I had a great time getting to know both of you, other committed and talented Rotarians, and enjoying your generous hospitality.

Sun Valley is a beautiful setting to highlight the many accomplishments of your district.  We were especially impressed with the Youth Exchange Program, the Semilla Nueva program in Guatemala, your Ambassadorial Scholar Stephanie Meyer, and your Foundation Chair Gene Hoge and his committee’s grasp of and roll out of the new grants program.

Your speakers were excellent and very apt in highlighting the peace theme. The fellowship and love of a good time among the Rotarians was very tangible – we really enjoyed our hippie experience on Friday night and the wonderful hospitality at the House of Friendship each evening.

Idaho is a beautiful state and all of you take justified pride in that reality.  We drove through the Sawtooths on the way back to Boise and confirmed our desire to come back in the next year for a week of summer biking, hiking and fishing.

Thank you for the gifts you gave us, most especially for the memories of a well done district conference with wonderful Rotarians.

John
