Boise Southwest’s MSTI Christmas Gift Program
Boise Southwest’s MSTI Christmas Gift Program
This program was established through Mountain States Tumor Institute (MSTI) in 1978. The institute provides names of families and their Christmas gift wishes for each family member. These families have a member going through cancer treatment and have very limited resources. Rotarians signup and purchase the Christmas gifts for 21 families consisting of 88 members.
On December 21st, 31 Rotarians and their family members packed food boxes for each of the 21 families. This included turkeys, can goods, pies, buns, butter, potatoes, apples, oranges, sundries, etc. Then Rotarians delivered the food boxes and Christmas gifts to the families. The delivery area ranges from Mountain Home to Eastern Oregon and Weiser. You should see the joy and special expressions on these families faces!! It is heartwarming.
Special thank you to:
  • Rotary members Barbara Dorsey and Dana Kauffman for managing this program
  • Rotary member Pat Rice, Executive Director of the Boise Center for use of their facility for storage and assembly of the food boxes
  • Sysco Foods for food donations
  • Rotary Members Julia and Terry Bowman for turkeys
  • Rotary Member Ric Gale and Julie Taylor for sundries
