This comes from our friends at Semilla Nueva" "Last year we were extremely lucky to have received a vehicle donation from one of our favorite friends in Idaho - a beautiful Toyota Tundra! The only catch? We had to get it down to Guatemala. So two of Semilla Nueva's biggest supporters and great friends decided to take a walk on the wild side and drive the truck all the way from Boise, Idaho to Xela Guatemala - 3,610.2 miles to be exact.
Check out Mike Sieler's blog http://miketomexico.blogspot.com/ about the trip, and watch the incredible video he and Don Lojek
made out of photos that were taken every 5 seconds, literally! Mike
and Don are not done with their adventure yet. Both men have decided to
hang out in Xela for a while, take some Spanish classes, and get more
in touch with the work of Semilla Nueva and our partner farmers. Mike
plans to harvest pigeonpea with some of the same farmers his son Michael
planted with last year, making the work come full circle. We are so
happy to host these two wonderful gentlemen. Also a HUGE thanks to our
Rotary friends for making us a real NGO with a Toyota Tundra truck!"
