The January Mid-Winter Assemblies (one wag named it the Vaterlaus Add Vantage – let’s see if the name sticks) present two morning sessions running concurrently, one featuring club leaders sharing the “agony and ecstasies” of serving in this august role, and the other designed for membership chairs.  After a sumptuous lunch, the two groups will join into one and share their ideas for strengthening clubs and ways to increase membership recruitment and retention.

DG Bret urges club presidents, presidents-elect, vice presidents and membership chairs and their committee members to attend.  “The Mid-Winter Assemblies give us a chance to sh2012ThemeLogoare the good work we are doing, inspire each other to make the second half of our work even better, and learn ways to improve our clubs.”

Terry Bowman, D5400 Membership Chair, envisions three major issues for conversation by membership leaders at the assemblies:  1) How can we increase the number of new members? 2) How can we effectively integrate new members into our clubs? and 3) How can we effectively retain members?
