GBRF AWARDS BOISE WATERSHED $17,000

The Greater Boise Rotary Foundation (GBRF) is made up the 7 Rotary Clubs that reside in Ada County. Its mission is to support community projects within Ada County. This year the GRBF Board accepted some 30 requests for "major" grants. After much anguish over deciding among all these worthwhile projects, the winner was the Boise Watershed Exhibits, Inc.

 

A check for $17,000 was awarded to the organization at the GBRF monthly meeting on July 9th in the Watershed's meeting room. This will support an interactive educational kiosk which will be part of a $3 million project to greatly expand their educational campus on Joplin Rd. The new exhibit is to be called "Walking on Water" and will feature displays on groundwater, snowpack, aquifers and water treatment. Ground breaking for the new project is scheduled for August 27th.
