ImageImageA significant event happened in our District last Wednesday evening at the Sockeye Grill in Boise. The Boise West  Rotary Club for Adventurous Types was officially chartered as our newest club, the 43rd in District 5400. Originally a Rotaract Club, leaders have been working hard to recruit the required 20 members since late 2010. The three originals were Melissa Weymouth, Dawn Hickman and Andy Wood. Its a tribute to their hard work and enthusiasm to bring this new club to fruition. During the past two years, they have been active in the community working with refugee programs and other events. The President of the new club is Melissa Weymouth; Dawn Hickman is the President-elect. (By the way, Melissa's Dad, Charles, is a charter member of Boise Metro!) The Club meets at 6:00PM on Wednesdays at the Sockeye Grill. Everyone is invited to stop by.

The Charter Night event was attended by District big-wigs Bret Vaterlaus, Marianne Barker, Terry Gilbert and Kathleen Simko. Representatives from many other clubs were also in attendance. The official Charter Certificate, delivered by RI President Sakuji Tanaka, was presented to President Weymouth by DG Bret.
